Update: 1:12PM Fiji missed out on each of the categories it was nominated for at the World Rugby awards which took place in London, England earlier today.
Ben Ryan, who was nominated for the Coach of the Year lost out to All Blacks mentor Steve Hansen and Olympics Gold Winning skipper Osea Kolinisau who was nominated for Player of the Year missed the opportunity won by South Africa’s Seabelo Senatla.
The New Zealand All Blacks won the Team of the Year category ahead of our Fiji Rugby Sevens team to the Rio Olympics.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Mens and Australian Women’s achievement at winning Olympic Rugby Sevens gold was recognised through a perpetual silver salver presented by International Olympics Committee member Octavian Morariu.
