THE Extra Supermarket sponsored Police side danced their way to a 6-1 victory to retain the coveted trophy for the Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl soccer competition, at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.

The winners gained the lead in the first half through an own goal by Army goal keeper Epeli Loaniceva as Police led 1-nil at the break.

In the second spell, further goals by Ratu Apenisa Anare and Sailosi Nalaubu for Police saw them extend their lead to 3-nil.

Nalaubu scored once more in the 56th minute and Army broke through an impenetrable wall of defence to get their only goal thanks to Salacieli Dakuna in the 61st minute of play.

Police three more goals to ease past Army’s challenge.

As the two forces wrap up competition in the boxing and soccer categories, and the netball and volleyball competitions get underway today, the football gladiators return to Nasova with their spoils, content in knowing their coveted title sits once more at the home of the men in blue for another year.

The rugby match between the two forces kicks off at 3pm at the HFC Bank Stadium tomorrow.
