First time competitors Dimension Brothers needed to transition their playing approach from a rugby union 15s stance to a sevens one, ahead of the Fiji Bitter Labasa 7s which began at Subrail Park in Labasa yesterday.

Team coach Jitoko Vulava explained what the team encountered in heading to Labasa.

“Preparing ourselves for this tournament was not an easy one for us, since many of the players had to switch their mindsets from a rugby 15s one to 7s since they were used to playing that,” Vulava revealed.

Travelling to the Babasiga town for the three-day tourney from the highlands of Nadogo, Bua was part of the team’s preparations in getting themselves to Labasa for the tournament.

“This is also the first time we’re playing in the Fiji Bitter 7s series and I’m thankful to the team for winning their first match against the Manawi Brothers,” Vulava said.

The Dimension men’s team had beaten the Manawi Brothers team 25-0 in their first pool match yesterday morning.

Vulava added the team’s progression from changing mindsets to ensuring they performed their very best at the tourney was a key part of their journey.

He also expressed his acknowledgement for the team’s supporters and their sponsors from abroad for their backing and unwavering commitment towards ensuring the team’s needs were catered for.

The Dimension Brothers team is grouped in Pool B of the men’s category with series leaders BLK Lavidi Brothers, Bua Babas and Manawi Brothers
