ACSOG’s make most of annual sports day

Former scholars of Adi Cakobau School participated in an annual sports fun day, held at the Suva Grammar School indoor court yesterday.

The fun day was held as part of the school’s birthday celebrations, as women and girls of various ages were mixed into four teams representing their alma mater’s schoolhouses.

ACS Old Girls President Ilisapeci Movono says the event was devised with the intent of bringing together the old scholars.

“This year we thought we’d have a sports day just to bring everybody together, give them a chance to meet each other, interact with each other and show us their talents and their prowess,” Movono said.

The day began with a Zumba session at 7am and games such as volleyball, a walking netball competition, tug of war and card games.

Card games such as trump and walking netball were included to ensure that older players took part as well.

Movono added the old scholars could look forward to another sports day next year, noting the fun in the events would never cease.

“For next year, the sports day will be planned for a certain time that is convenient for all of us.”

“We’re not sure what the plan is for next year but there definitely will be one, and we’re having fun.

The day’s events concluded with a dinner for the old girls at the Paradiso Restaurant in Albert Park, Suva last night.
