THE defending champions of the National Premier League, Rewa football are in familiar company once more as they are set to take on Labasa when the tournament gets underway this weekend.
The fixture will be the third meeting this year between the Delta Tigers and the Babasiga Lions, with the first two in favour of the former during the Pillay Garments Champion v Champion (CVC) tournament recently.
Both teams will face off this Sunday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori at 3pm, as part of five confirmed fixtures made known by the Fiji Football Association yesterday.
Speaking to the media following their CvC win in Nausori, Rewa head coach Rodicks Singh said they would prepare for the upcoming events on the football calendar by switching up their level of preparation.
“I think they will rotate a bit, we will see who is injury free plus we have the national boys going into the national camp,” Singh said at the time.
A day prior to their clash, Tavua FC who were recently promoted will face Nadi FC in Garvey Park, Tavua at 3pm.
Nasinu FC and Lautoka FC will meet on Sunday at 11am at the HFC Bank Stadium in Laucala Bay, Suva while Nadroga FC and Navua FC will meet at 1pm in Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka on the same day.
Rewa v Labasa kick-off at 3pm in Nausori while Suva FC’s men in white take on the men in black from Ba FC.
It will be a meeting of strategic moves and calculated advances for every side, as the football season is now in full swing following the conclusion of the Pillay Garments CVC tournament, where Rewa won both clashes against Labasa 3-0 and 1-0 in the first and second match respectively.
