Nasinu thumps Tailevu Naitasiri

THE Nasinu under-19 side won 4-0 over Tailevu/Naitasiri in the latest round of the Extra U19 Boys League 2025 at the Fiji FA grounds in Vatuwaqa, Suva yesterday.

The first half moved at a tight pace, however at halftime, both teams were yet to score.

When the second half rolled in, the pace of the match further intensified as players found newfound strength and agility in their performance.

Nasinu coach Arunesh Kapur thanked his players for putting on a favourable performance.

“Our team did great. We had prepared a game plan and I think the boys followed, we missed a lot of chances in the first half,” Kapur said.

“We missed a penalty, but then we re-gathered at half-time to discuss what we need to do and we got the goal in the early stage of the second half.”

When the scores were nil-all at half-time, he shared how changes were made, with players on the bench getting a chance to play on the field.

“We did some positional changes, and we need to stay sharp on the changes we’re getting,” he recalled.

“So I think the boys followed the hard team talk and as we directed our strikers and we got the goal.”

With a strong performance set by Nasinu, he added the team had high regard for their opponents coming into the match.

“We treat every team the same way, respect every team because every team comes prepared for this competition.

“We told the boys that we need to respect the players, and we respected them and respected the referee’s decision as well.”

He also thanked those that supported the team.
