Fiji’s Ministry of Health and Medical Services has reported three new cases of COVID-19.

All three cases were recorded in the last 24 hours ending at 8am yesterday.

Ministry permanent secretary Dr James Fong said of the three cases recorded, one case was recorded in the Central Division, one in the Western Division and one case recorded in the Northern Division.

He said the national seven-day rolling average of cases as of April 9 was six daily cases.

Dr Fong said in the seven 7 days until April 12, four new cases were recorded in the Central Division, 23 new cases in the Western Division, and four new cases in the Northern Division.

No new case was recorded in the Eastern Division.

“The Central Division cases constitute 68 per cent of the cumulative total cases nationally, with the Western Division making up 27 per cent, 3 per cent in the Northern Division, and 2 per cent in the Eastern Division,” Dr Fong said.

No COVID death was reported.
