Government schools’ board of governors re-established

The Board of Governors for 13 government schools in Fiji that were abolished in 2015 will be re-established.

Cabinet approved the re-establishment of those boards at its meeting yesterday.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka made the announcement yesterday afternoon saying the role of the board is to provide effective oversight into the management and governance of a government school.

He said the boards were being re-established for two primary and 11 secondary schools, which are:

  • Delainamasi Government School
  • Natabua Primary School,
  • Adi Cakobau School
  • Bucalevu Secondary School
  • Labasa College
  • Levuka Public School
  • Nasinu Secondary School
  • Natabua High School
  • Queen Victoria School
  • Ratu Kadavulevu School
  • Sila Central School
  • Suva Grammar School, and
  • Vunisea Secondary School.
