Cuvu residents to receive lease titles

Residents of Cuvu Settlement in Sigatoka will receive their long-awaited lease titles this year.

A total of 105 households will benefit from this milestone, ensuring those families with greater security and ownership of their homes.

Ministry of Housing permanent secretary Manasa Lesuma said application letters would be hand-delivered directly to each household within the Cuvu settlement from February 17 to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.

He said this approach eliminated potential barriers faced by residents who may lack access to online resources or traditional communication channels.

“The ministry will be establishing a temporary base in Cuvu for two weekends. This initiative aims to provide direct support in completing and collecting application forms,” Mr Lesuma said.

He said ministry representatives would be readily available to guide applicants through the process.

“Successful applicants will then receive official offer letters in July 2024, marking a pivotal moment in their journey towards securing land ownership.

“The Coalition Government through the Ministry of Housing will continue to explore opportunities to enhance home ownership through the provision of affordable, decent and safe housing for all citizens.”
