Solomon Police investigate shooting of Anglican brother

Update: 7:19PM A CULTIST leader called ?Platform? in Solomon Islands? Makira province is wanted by Police to discuss with him an alleged shooting of an Anglican Tasiu (brother) at the Real Highlands in the Central Makira Province constituency on August 20.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) made an appeal today calling on the leader of the cultist group to come forward for the discussion.

Provincial Police Commander, Makira-Ulawa Province, Peter Sitai confirms he had deployed his officers to investigate the incident but had not made any arrests so far.

“We want to appeal to the leaders of the cultist group to come forward and discuss the incident of the alleged shooting to find some ways of resolving the matter,” PPC Sitai said. 

“I also appeal to people in the community not to take any retaliatory action while Police is trying to resolve the situation.”

Police reported that the Tasiu had now recovered from his injuries. 

He was believed to have been shot with a bow and arrow, which injured his left ribs.
