Fijian Police have taken a 35-year-old farmer of Namuka, Bau in Tailevu following the death of a fellow 21-year-old villager.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the suspect had allegedly assaulted the victim and as a result, he fell from the village seawall.

She said the victim was rushed to the Nausori hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Ms Naisoro said the suspect was now in custody at the Nausori Police Station as investigations continue.
