Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole a bag containing $13,000 from a restaurant owner in downtown Suva yesterday afternoon.

Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua said the alleged incident occurred at the FNPF Plaza.

She said the suspect allegedly grabbed the man’s shopping bag that contained the cash from where it was placed while the business owner was still preparing a food order in the kitchen.

Police are requesting members of the public to call Crime Stoppers on 919 if they have any information or if they saw anything that could assist in their investigations.
