Fijian Police recorded 47 arrests of breaching health restrictions over the last 24 hours.
A total of 19 arrests were also recorded for those failing to adhere to national curfew orders in place.
Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said the Southern Division recorded 33 cases and majority were linked to alcohol gatherings.
He said seven people were found intoxicated at Wailea settlement in Vatuwaqa, six people of Nadera were also arrested for a similar case, and five others were found drunk at the Naqumu Point in Lami.
Two men in their 20s were also found drunk at Tacirua, and three men arrested at Joe’s Farm area in Colo-i-Suva intoxicated.
“Other cases of intoxication were recorded at Samabula whereby three men were found drunk, while a 29-year-old man was found during curfew hours loitering, as well as two others who were both found disregarding curfew orders,” ACP Tudravu said.
“Three cases of kava consumption were recorded at Narere and those involved were arrested for breaching the health restrictions.”
ACP Tudravu said 18 people were arrested in the Western Division and majority of the cases were related to alcohol gatherings.
The Eastern Division recorded 11ncases and four cases in the Northern Division.
The Central Division recorded nil cases.
