Cakaudrove rugby had a mentality shift after losing to Tailevu in round one of the ANZ Marama and Royal Tea Ranadi Promotion Relegation match last weekend.
This has allowed them to take a fresh approach against Navosa in the second round today.
Both teams lost last weekend with Cakaudrove going down 34-37 to Tailevu and Navosa falling 12-69 to Kadavu.
The northerners accepted the loss with their heads high as they now know the type of competition to expect from teams in the Marama Championship.
“Losing to Tailevu I can say is a blessing in disguise because we really got to see where we lacked. Tailevu has been playing in the Marama for a while, but our women are from the grassroots, we trained together for three years, reached the Ranadi final and now meeting these top teams is good learning for us,” Cakaudrove coach Ana Seru stated.
With that clear, Seru said its high time they step on the pedal and win the remaining two matches.
“Expectations will be different now against Navosa because we’ve had a taste of what top teams have.
This means we must step up the tempo, come in with a different mind-set and regard ourselves playing in the national level,’ she added.
Cakaudrove and Navosa will be out to get their first win when they clash today at 9am at Lawaqa Park ground 2.
