Tabadamu 7s heads back to Navua

Organisers of the 9th Fiji Bitter Tabadamu 7s are taking the tournament back to their home ground at Thompson Park in Navua.

The tournament held at Sigatoka’s Lawaqa Park in 2023 and Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park last year is planned to be held at their home ground this year.

This is to bring all the action closer to the people of Namosi.

The aim of the tournament hasn’t changed and that is to continue to foster the development of rugby talents from rural communities.

“With Fiji Bitter’s support, we have been able to extend our reach and make a real difference in our communities. From providing opportunities for young rugby talents to improving infrastructure in our villages,” club president Daniele Cakaunivalu stated.

The tournament continues to be a launchpad for emerging rugby talent from Namosi and surrounding areas.

Notable players like Joseva Talacolo and Filipe Sauturaga have used this platform to catapult their careers.

“This partnership exemplifies our commitment to grassroots rugby and rural development. Seeing the tangible impact on players and communities alike reaffirms the value of this collaboration. Rugby is more than a game in Fiji; it’s a unifier, and through this tournament, we are proud to help nurture the next generation of stars while supporting rural communities,” said General Manager of Paradise Beverages Mike Spencer.

The tournament is scheduled for February 20-22.
