SUBRAIL Park in Labasa was almost a full house yesterday as fans filled up the stands and ground in the evening to witness the Extra Battle of the Giants match between Lincoln Rewa FC and River Tubing Fiji / Classic Travel Tours and Rentals Navua FC as well as the main match between Extra Supermarket Labasa and Sawmillers/iXCEL Ba.
On Thursday, Fiji Football Association chief executive Mohammed Yusuf stated that 3200 tickets were already bought for the three days.
Yesterday, Fiji FA operations manager Anushi Kunar said that a lot more have been bought.
“Almost 4,000 tickets were sold out yesterday,” he said.
The VIP area is expected to be sold out in the remaining two days of competition.
“The reserved seating area, which was a package of $100 for three days, is almost sold out so a lot more fans will be expected.”
In true Fijian fashion, people were still lining up in numbers at the gate, in the hope of securing a ticket for the remaining days.
“A lot of people are still coming to get their tickets at the gate during the three days so there is a lot of excitement regarding turnout for this BOG,” Kumar said.
Subrail Park has a seating capacity of 10,000 people.
