Changes to this weekends clash against NSW Waratahs

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua coach Mick Byrne has made several changes to the side after the team lost to Chiefs in Hamilton last week.

A release from the team stated that Byrne was aware of the huge task at hand as they are determined to get their first win against the NSW-based side – Waratahs, in this weekend’s Round Five of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific double header at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

“In the starting 15, powerful front rower Haereiti Hetet (1) retains his place at loosehead prop.

“Flying Fijian Tevita Ikanivere returns to his starting hooker position (2) and Mesake Doge (3) is back at tighthead. Locks Mesake Vocevoce (4) and Leone Rotuisolia (5) retain their spots in the middle row.

“Also retaining their places in the run-on team are Etonia Waqa (6) on the blindside, Vilive Miramira (7) on the openside and captain Meli Derenalagi at number 8.”

Frank Lomani, will also make a return this weekend pairing with Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula who is at flyhalf (10).

“Flyer Taniela Rakuro (11) gets a start on the left wing this week with Selestino Ravutaumada (14) on the right.

“Barnstorming centre Apisalome Vote (12) returns this week at inside centre, with Iosefo Masi (13) outside him. Ilaisa Droasese (15) completes the starting 15 at fullback.

Byrne has named a strong bench with Zuriel Togiatama (16) covering at hooker, with props Emosi Tuqiri (17) and Samuela Tawake (18) at loosehead and tighthead respectively.

“ An impactful middle and backrow pair of Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta (19) and the returning Kitione Salawa (20) will be eager to stamp their mark on the match.”
