Crime rate increased by 18 per cent, more than what was recorded for the same period last year.

Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu said cases rose from 276 to 414.

“There were three notable cases that registered 77 counts of theft worth over $189,000 from three business entities,” he said.

“There is a growing trend of cyber-related cases of obtaining financial advantage by deception with 52 cases indicating that cyber fraud is becoming increasingly prevalent.

“All these cases were committed the previous years but officially registered in February 2025.”
