Chamber welcomes visa initiative

THE Nadroga Navosa Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the recent changes to New Zealand’s visitor visa, saying it will ease the financial burden and costs associated with frequent travel.

Chamber president Suresh Naidu said the decision to grant multiple entry visitor visas with a 24-month validity for Pacific Islands Forum country nationals was a progressive step.

Mr Naidu said this would significantly ease the burden and cost associated with frequent travel for individuals visiting family, exploring tourism opportunities, or engaging in short-term study.

“By removing the visa requirement for those already vetted by the Australian immigration system, New Zealand is streamlining travel and fostering greater connectivity between our nations,” he said.

“This initiative has the potential to unlock significant economic benefits and strengthen regional ties.”

Mr Naidu said this would reduce travel costs, increase travel frequency, boost tourism, strengthen regional ties and simplify travel processes.

“The Nadroga Novasa Chamber of Commerce looks forward to the positive impact these policies will have on our region’s interconnectedness and prosperity.”
