Kosa passes on

The football community in Fiji and New Zealand are in mourning following the passing of former Lautoka and national team mid fielder Epeli Rokotuva Kosa.

Kosa passed away peacefully in Auckland, New Zealand at the age of 66.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel and the board members and the football community expressed their profound sadness at Kosa’s passing.

Patel highlighted Kosa’s significant contributions to Fijian football, describing him as a great footballer and an inspirational leader of his era.

He extended his condolences to his family during this difficult time.

New Zealand Fiji Football Incorporated president Sachin Dutt says Kosa will be missed by many.

“It’s a huge loss. I am in complete shock. He had been a great footballer and an inspirational leader of his time. “I convey my heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolence to the grieving family, and I pray to the Almighty that his soul rests in peace.” Dutt said.

Former national football rep Ronald Chaudhary, now based in Canada, said Kosa was a good friend of his, on and off the field.

“Kosa was humble and we talked about soccer like we talking about food,” Chaudhary said.

“Bade bhai (big brother) it is indeed very sad for Fiji Soccer. You were idol for so many. You sent motivational quotes every morning. Always wanted Fiji soccer community overseas to unite.”
“Speechless, sadden to hear you have left big brother. I was looking forward to see you next year,” Chaudhary stated. || Kosa passes on || Kosa passes on
