$1.5m investment – Freight company opens new warehouse

A $1.5 million warehouse was opened this week by freight company, Cosmos Logistics.

The New Zealand-based company opened by Fiji-born businessman Pravin Dutt is among a string of freight companies that are looking to expand their businesses in the Western Division.

Managing director Pravin Dutt said their decision to bring their services to Lautoka was based on market demand.

“We saw that there were a lot of opportunities here in Lautoka and a lot of our clients wanted us to bring our services to the West,” he said.

“We invested about $1.5m on this warehouse and bring our services to customers who wanted us closer to them.

“I see the West as a very large area that has the opportunities to businesses like ours.”

He said with a staff of close to 30, he was confident that they would offer services to their clients efficiently.

“The key thing for us is efficiency.

“Most of our services are digitised which allows us to connect with our customers easily and our customers are able to access our services easily as well.

“We offer a wide range of places for our customers including China and New Zealand.

“There are also plans for us to expand our routes to other countries like Australia and Singapore.”
