Government services in rural areas were some of the main focus of Attorney-General Siromi Turaga’s first official visit of 2024 to Levuka and Moturiki last weekend.
Mr Turaga visited villagers in Naicabecabe, Visoto and nearby communities during the three-day tour.
While holding talanoa sessions, Mr Turaga emphasised the importance of villagers having access to government services.
“The primary objective of the talanoa session was to educate the public about the diverse range of services offered by Government, address concerns raised and promote inclusivity by bringing essential services directly to the doorstep of the villagers and receive assistance from the government officials present,” a government statement read.
“The interactive sessions facilitated a direct connection between the villagers and the Government, fostering transparency and understanding.
“The visit not only served as a means to address immediate concerns but also laid the groundwork for continued collaboration between the Government and the community.”
Mr Turaga also highlighted the Coalition Government’s commitment to ensuring that the needs of every Fijian were heard and addressed.
