Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, Josefa Nata and Ratu Timoci Silatolu were given the presidential pardon this morning by President Wiliame Katonivere.

Ratu Inoke was involved in the military mutiny in 2000 at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks while Nata and Silatolu were part of the 2000 Coup.

While pardoning the trio along with nine other former inmates, Ratu Wiliame said the presidential pardon was an important show of forgiveness.

He said it was also an important time of reflection.

Also pardoned today was Alesi Nalave, Kaliova Rasaku, Kamlesh Kumar, Lole Vulaca, Nemani Valeniyasana, Pita Tokoniyaroi, Rupeni Vosayaco, Samuela Rogoivalu and Vaione Tegu.
