FORMER publisher and general manager of The Fiji Times Hank Arts passed away at his home in Cairns, Australia, last Sunday.

‘Hank’ as he is lovingly known was responsible for some significant changes at the newspaper during his time with The Fiji Times until his retirement in 2018.

Paying tribute to Hank, general manager Christine Lyons praised the former publisher for his resilience and leadership during challenging times.

“Many of us knew Hank as a kind-hearted, and fun-loving man,” she said.

“He was a valued member of The Fiji Times and led us through some of our most challenging years.

“He will be missed.”

Editor in Chief Fred Wesley said that in the face of all the challenges the newspaper encountered, Hank still had time for people.

“He was down-to-earth, and enjoyed life to the brim. We will miss him!”
