Ba to uphold law

THE Ba Provincial Council has assured Government it will neither take part in any seditious activity nor support any movement against the rule of law.

While acknowledging members of Government at Natalecake Village, Ba, Tavua district representative Apisalome Ulusova said the province supported Government.

He told Commissioner Western Manasa Tagicakibau that the Fiji Police Force and the Fiji Military Forces did not need to deploy their personnel to the region.

He added that leaders in the province had learnt from past mistakes.

Meanwhile, iTaukei Ministry permanent secretary Savenaca Kaunisela encouraged the council to speak to the people.

He said traditional leaders should not be dragged into illegal activities.

“The impact of not following the law will affect not only individual people but also families, communities and a whole vanua,” he said.

“The wave of positive change is being initiated by Government and the people should work with Government to take our country to a better place.”
