THE one-year nursing program offered by the Then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam will adequately prepare nurses in making sound clinical judgments and decisions, says director of nursing Selina Waqa Ledua.
“I believe that such a program will adequately prepare the candidate to make good decisions and be able to work productively with other health disciplines for the common good of the clients we serve,” she said.
“I understand that this one-year program integrates a good and rich combination of units such as health assessment, nursing and risk management, nursing inquiry and spirituality, nursing research, advanced primary health care and wellness which I am certain will yield great harvest in the professional lives of the scholars which should manifest in excellent performance, professionalism and quality of delivery of health services.”
She said the TISI Sangam School of Nursing was the first institution to deliver Fiji’s first group of graduates in 2015 with 27 nurses.
“The institute has been able to graduate 45 midwives, eight nurse practitioners and 28 enrolled nurses within the past six years.”
