THE mother of a 19-month-old toddler who died after he was run over by a truck in Vomo St, Lautoka, over the weekend will be questioned by police.
In a statement, police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the 40-year-old driver was taken into police custody over the weekend for questioning and later released.
She said as investigations continued, the mother of the child would also be interrogated. She added the post-mortem examination of the victim was carried out yesterday.
The victim was alleged to have been outside of his home when he was hit by the truck.
The child was rushed to the hospital by family members but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, investigations continue in the second road fatality involving a child in Lautoka.
Ms Naisoro said the driver of the bus which hit a three-year-old child at the Lautoka bus stand last week had been questioned and released.
