TEACHERS will undergo two types of assessments before being offered new teaching contracts.

Jane Karen, from the Civil Service Review Management Unit, explained the new assessment process during the Civil Service Review and Job Evaluation Exercise roadshow in Sigatoka yesterday.

Ms Karen said the job evaluation exercise (JEE) and open merit review system (OMRS) were the key tools that would be used to decide teaching contracts.

“This is not just about changing the salary band,” she said.
