MINISTER for Aviation and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says operations at the Nadi International Airport will continue despite the unavailability of hundreds of Airports Terminal Services staff.
He said a stakeholders meeting held between Fiji Airways, Airports Fiji Ltd and other stakeholders was able to identify alternative measures.
He said other strategies have been put in place by Fiji Airways and AFL, while other airlines have been requested to make their own arrangements on services normally provided by ATS.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said after a meeting with ATS staff on Sunday night, he found that some were being misled.
The attorney-general said there were people behind the ATS staff who left their posts last Saturday to attend a beneficiaries meeting, causing flight delays and disruptions.
These people were driving their own political agenda, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
He said he hoped that the matter would be resolved.
However, he emphasised that the Nadi International Airport would remain operational and they would ensure minimal disruptions to international flights.
