Kulture festival to pay tribute to founder

THE Kulture Beer and Music Festival in Lautoka tomorrow will pay tribute to its founder Arthur Philitoga.

The musician has been the main organiser of the annual event before his untimely passing earlier this month.

His daughter, Eileen Philitoga, said the festival was the brainchild of her father.

“He was the one that was behind everything and when he passed away, everything came to a standstill,” she said.

“So when we started preparing for the festival again, it was decided that we would have a special moment to pay tribute to him.

“The main event begins at 4pm and we will be holding the tribute when the main performers begin their set.”

She said preparation work for the event had gone smoothly.

“We have some artists that arrived into the country today (yesterday) and most of them will arrive tomorrow.

George (Fiji Veikoso) will arrive on Saturday (tomorrow) morning.”

She says tickets are selling fast and will also be on sale tomorrow.

“We have a total of 5000 tickets on sale so getting a ticket will not be an issue.”

The festival will begin at 8am at the Botanical Garden in Lautoka.
