Investigations continue into the alleged rape of a 16-year-old student of a maritime school at the beginning of this year.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said investigations were near completion.

Meanwhile, relatives of the alleged victim had transferred the student to a school in Viti Levu.

It is alleged the student was raped by more than five senior students, and the matter was first reported by the victim’s grandmother.

The victim’s grandmother only came to know of the incident when she confronted school administrators in early February.
