Tourism is well placed for 2022. According to Tourism Fiji, the months of February and March are expected to bring in more value to the industry.
“Looking at media interest and social media, Fiji continues to be the destination of choice, particularly for Australians, and we are doing a lot of work on our PR as well as with our ongoing Open for Happiness campaign, which has been viewed 14.5 million times,” a statement from Tourism Fiji said.
“This is really helping us stay top of mind and talking to the industry, bookings are looking really solid from April onwards.
“Right now, there are some incredibly good value offers in market for February and March too so we’re continuing to push those through.
“Reopening on December 1 was an incredibly good decision and we are really well placed now for 2022.”
Tourism Fiji added that while the industry looked forward to a positive year ahead, it had not been without its challenges.
“Of course, we had challenges during this period, with the new testing protocols, coupled with staff getting intense ‘on-the-job’ training that can only come once tourists started to arrive again.
“Through February and March, we will continue to work with our industry to ensure we’re working through collectively to help each other and prepare for our high season.”
According to the Fiji Bureau of Statistics, 18,569 Australians visited Fiji last year alongside 4233 Americans, 532 Kiwis and 2178 visitors from China.
