Aussies, Kiwis among highest bookings for resort

Visitors from New Zealand and Australia made the highest number of bookings at Plantation Island Resort for the month of March.

Raffe Hotels and Resorts CEO Bradley Robinson said the resort was the most popular destination among Aussies and Kiwis since borders reopened last year.

“Australia was the first to start booking and obviously because they were opening up,” he said.

“New Zealand is starting to come through right now.

“In fact, I spoke to our director of sales and marketing based in Dunedin, who sent me a very happy message that it turns out Plantation Island Resort is the biggest selling property in Australia and New Zealand in the last week.

“Our travel agent partners are reporting back that they are getting more inquiries for Plantation Island Resort than any other resorts in Fiji.”

He said it was evident in the bookings.

“Our bookings haven’t just doubled or tripled, they have gone five, six times up in the last couple of weeks.

“I think because people can now have the confidence to travel.

“Restrictions are being relaxed more and we are making it easier and more seamless for tourists.”

Government restrictions on travel were officially relaxed yesterday.
