Agreement to make a difference for the needy

To make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged and needy, the United Nations Association of Fiji (UNAF)and Sai Prema Foundation (SPF) Fiji have formalised a collaborative partnership agreement.

The partnership is to achieve the vision, goals and objectives that UNAF and SPF have in common as well as to develop greater cooperation, understanding, strategic alliance and partnership through a number of projects and initiatives.

Association president Akmal Ali said the partnership was all about cementing their pre-existing relationship that would assist UNA Fiji in helping achieve its ambition of creating active citizens in Fiji who contribute towards nation-building in whatever little way we can.

“Together we will and we can,” said Mr Ali.

Sai Prema Foundation Fiji director Sumeet Tappoo said the partnership had a lot of potential to manifest into something grand for the benefit of the people of Fiji.

“To begin with, both organisations will work towards creating greater awareness about congenital heart disease (CHD) among all Fijians and facilitate families and their children to receive treatment completely free of charge,” said Mr Tappoo.

“In addition, UNAF will use this project to engage its members and participants to volunteer their time towards distributing food parcels across Fiji, participate and volunteer in the rural outreach medical camps as well as engage, empower and motivate volunteers in our weekly blood drives across the nation.”
