Church rings in new year with prayer

Naseakula Methodist Church in Labasa held a two-hour church service to celebrate the new year.

During his sermon, associate pastor Peni Taloga said members should leave behind in 2023 the bad attitudes such as not being to able to work together.

Mr Taloga said only then would the vanua of Labasa be able to move forward.

“We will be able to achieve our goals in 2024 if we work together,” he said.

In this new year, he said people should put God first in their daily living.

“How many of you start the day by praying,” he asked.

“It’s important to pray to align your heart with our creator and can become a treasured time of personal worship.

He suggested that everyone should spend time with God every morning and afternoon in this New Year.

Also, the Holy Family Parish had a New Year church service to mark the beginning of the year.
