New glue law

Regulations for the new glue law will fall under the Education Ministry, says Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica.

He said the law would not be developed as a separate legislation as initially planned.

“We want it done as soon as possible,” he said.

In an interview, he said they were waiting for the solicitor general’s office to finalise everything.

“Once it’s cleared, we’ll move forward with the regulation.”

He said there was a need to follow all legal steps before proceeding.

“I know some are eager for the law to be implemented quickly to address the issue of sniffing glues.”

He said the new law would address the need for clear rules on the use of glue.
