Principal praises students

With fond memories to last a lifetime, the Year 13 students of St. Vincent College bid each other farewell during their graduation ceremony last week.

Stepping into their new journey as young adults, the 56 students gathered for the last time to celebrate their accomplishments and to thank their teachers and the school.

The proud parents, family members and well-wishers who attended the ceremony saw the graduates walk across the stage to receive their certificates — symbolising their transition from high school to tertiary or work life.

Family members beamed with pride while cheering for the graduates – knowing that the graduation signify the beginning of their children’s future.

School principal, Asilika Nacolatabua expressed her heartfelt well wishes to the students, praising their hard work and resilience over the years.

She acknowledged the challenges they faced and celebrated their dedication to achieving academic excellence.

“As they step into the world beyond St. Vincent College, I have no doubt that each and every one of them will go on to achieve greatness,” Mrs. Nacolatabua said.

“We have seen their growth, their commitment, and their potential. It is our belief that these qualities will help them navigate their journey ahead and reach their highest aspirations.”

The event was filled with emotions, as many students reflecting on their shared experiences at St. Vincent College.

St Vincent College head girl and dux, Shamista Neha Singh, marked the event as the culmination of years of hard work, challenges, and personal growth.

“It was a challenging year for me as I had to balance my studies and responsibilities but through my faith, dedication and commitment, I was able to overcome possible obstacles and achieve my target,” Singh said.

She acknowledged her parents, teachers and her peers for supporting her towards her success.

Singh scored 368 out of 400 in the annual exam and hopes to get 370 in the external examination.
