The Fiji Hockey Federation received a boost for to preparations for its first ever Hockey5s World Cup in Muscat, Oman, from January 24-31.
A $30,000 sponsorship was signed with Motibhai Group of Companies and Rexona to support the national men’s and women’s teams in their participation in the upcoming international event.
Abraham Gomes, the marketing manager of Motibhai Group, expressed great honour and privilege in providing the boost in partnership with Rexona’s distribution agency and their supplier, Unilever International.
“Rexona, known as an iconic brand in the sporting world, is endorsed by numerous international sporting stars and is renowned for excellence in performance,” said Gomes.
“As a silver sponsor for the Hockey5s World Cup, the Motibhai Group wishes Team Fiji the very best in their upcoming outing,” he added.
Emi Nawaqakuta, the president of the Fiji Hockey Federation, expressed immense gratitude for Motibhai’s support, highlighting the challenges the federation faces in funding overseas tours for national hockey teams.
“The generous sponsorship from Motibhai Group comes at a crucial time and will greatly alleviate the financial burden, ensuring the national team can prepare and compete without financial constraints,” said Nawaqakuta.
“The entire Fiji Hockey Federation board, national teams, and wider hockey community are deeply thankful for the corporate responsibility and belief in their shared vision demonstrated by the Motibhai Group.
“This substantial sponsorship will have a significant impact on the national team’s ability to participate at the highest level and will contribute to the continued development of hockey in Fiji.” she added.
