Former Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s captain, Bitila Tawake, is grateful to be back on the field after a two-month rehabilitation process and is looking forward to a challenging game against the Wallaroos today.

Tawake sustained an injury during the Super W grand final but has made a strong comeback to contribute to the team’s preparation.

“I would like to thank the higher power for giving me the patience to get through the rehab process. I am also thankful to the coaches and management for supporting me and allowing me to return for this important match against the Wallaroos,” Tawake expressed.

“Rehab was tough, and I had to be patient. my family kept asking me when I’d be back playing, but I told them to wait until I was ready.

“It was tough watching my teammates play while I was on the sidelines, but I’m so glad to be back and excited for this upcoming match.

“Playing against the Wallaroos is always a challenge. we know some of the players from the Super W competition, and now they’re all on one team, so it’s going to be a tough match, but I can’t wait to get out there and give it my all.”

Tawake will start as the tight-head prop alongside Tiana Robanakadavu and Keleni Marawa in the front row.

In their previous meeting last year, the Wallaroos emerged victorious with a 22-5 win, the Vodafone Fijiana are determined to put up a strong performance this time around.

The match between the Vodafone Fijiana and the Wallaroos is scheduled for 6.45pm today.
