There are opportunities for success for the Fiji men’s 7s side at the 2024 Paris Olympics, says Team Fiji chef de mission Sale Sorovaki.

With players such as Jerry Tuwai setting his goal for a third Olympic gold medal and Osea Kolinisau potentially making history as a player and a coach, the team is filled with talent and potential.

Sorovaki highlighted the importance of arriving in France early to allow the team to familiarise themselves with the surroundings and training venues.

“Arriving early was great, it helps with the preparation. We feel more comfortable and confident as the games approach,” Sorovaki said.

“The atmosphere in Paris is exciting, with all the Fiji teams settling in well.

“The Fiji 7s side is particularly focused on the challenge ahead, knowing that with the success of the last Olympics comes greater expectations.

“Players like Jerry Tuwai, Iosefo Masi, and Selestino Ravutaumada are seen as key figures in the team, with the goal of achieving victory for the team.

“The recent success of the women’s team in securing a bronze medal in Japan as motivation for the entire team to strive for even greater accomplishments in Paris.
