Team ready for Samoa

The Fiji Residence rugby league team is gearing up for an exciting match against Samoa tomorrow, as they prepare to showcase their skills in a curtain-raiser for the Vodafone Fiji Bati and Cook Islands Pacific Bowl clash.

Former Fiji Bati star and current coach of the Residence team Vula Dakuitoga expressed confidence in their preparations for the game.

“The preparations are very good, the team spent the past week in camp at Uprising in Navua, focusing on refining their attack and defence strategies to ensure they are fully ready to take on Samoa,” said Dakuitoga.

Dakuitoga emphasised the importance of this match, highlighting the fierce competition that is expected when two Pacific Island nations face off on the rugby league field.

“This will be a fireworks match, it’s just two Pacific Islands meeting each other it will be a great match to match.

He acknowledged that Samoa would present a tough challenge, but he is confident that his team is well-equipped to secure a victory

“Samoa will come in strong as we all know, they will be tough, but we won’t let them take the easy road as we will win this match.”

To rally the support of fans and families, especially after the disappointing results of the Fiji Bati team over the weekend, Dakuitoga urged everyone to come out in numbers and cheer on all three teams – Fiji Residence, Fiji Bati, and Fiji Bulikula.

He assured that the team is determined to put on a show and emerge victorious in the upcoming match.

Meanwhile, the team also took time to give back to the community by visiting the Disability Centre in Suva yesterday, showcasing their commitment both on and off the field.

Fiji Residents will play Samoa Residents, 3.50pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
