DEFENDING their title as under-21 champions, the Axellerate Aflame Brothers are fully committed to giving their best in the 49th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament, commencing today at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Last year, they emerged victorious in a 12-0 final against the Tubarua Highlanders.
Team manager Emmanuel Fumanu has expressed satisfaction with the team’s preparation following the challenging Nawaka 7s last weekend.
The team is thrilled to be participating in the final leg of the Fiji Bitter series and eagerly anticipating another weekend of thrilling rugby action.
“Preparations went well throughout the week, we are so excited to participate in the final leg of the Fiji Bitter series and looking forward to another great weekend of rugby,” said Fumanu.
Acknowledging the strong competition at the tournament, Fumanu emphasised the importance of focus and dedication from the players.
“It’s a very good pool draw with great teams, and we will have to be more focused and be more serious about game.”
Despite facing some injuries within the team, Fumanu assured that new young players are ready to step up as replacements.
Fumanu extended a warm invitation to fans, supporters, and families across Fiji to come together and show their support for Axellerate Aflame Brothers at the 2025 Fiji Bitter Marist 7s.
He also congratulated Sikeli Basiyalo Jnr on his selection to represent the Fiji 7s team in Hong Kong.
