Head coach Henry Elder has emphasised the importance of refining technique, increasing strength levels, and building mental resilience in order to achieve success at the event.

“Preparation is progressing well, with the focus on refining technique, increasing strength levels, and building mental resilience,” said Elder.

“The team is also working on consistency in their lifts, competition mindset, and ensuring they are at peak condition for the event.

“Our focus is on doing everything right, getting our processes right, ensuring disciplined preparation, and pushing our performances beyond our best.

“If we execute our training, strategy, and mindset correctly, the medals will follow because of our hard work and commitment.”

Elder also emphasised the team faces various challenges leading up to preparation process.

“Our challenges include securing adequate financial support, ensuring athletes maintain their fitness levels while balancing work/school commitments, and overcoming logistical hurdles related to travel and accommodation, also maintaining access to proper nutrition and recovery resources is also a key focus.”

“Weight-lifting is more than just lifting weights; it’s about discipline, perseverance and personal growth.

“The sport teaches you resilience, commitment, and the ability to push beyond your limits.

“If you are ready to challenge yourself and be part of a supportive and hardworking team, weight-lifting can open doors to opportunities you never imagined.”
