Update: 3:12PM AN earthquake occurred this afternoon at 02:31:59 PM local time, 85 km SE from Luganville, Vanuatu, the Mineral Resource Department’s Seismology Unit notified.

According to the Department, the moderate size earthquake with shallow depth source location occurred in the Vanuatu region. 

The earthquake does not pose any immediate threat to the Fiji region, the Department confirmed.
