NADI rugby president Sekove Tuilakeba said if any team wanted to beat Nadroga, they had to first beat the Stallions’ rugby system.
His team lost to the BLK Nadroga side last Saturday in the HFC Bank Farebrother Trophy challenge match at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
“They have a system in place which they meticulously follow. It includes the development of their young players and off-season training. This is an area Nadi will focus on next season if we are to be successful,” said Tuilakeba.
“We were against a very experienced team with a heavier forward pack. Nadroga have had plenty of game time which gave them the edge over us.”
Former Nadi and Fiji 7s rep Penisoni Waki said Nadroga looked almost unbeatable now despite two more challenges remaining.
He said teams that wished to beat Nadroga should play to the final whistle.
“When a stallion starts to sweat, it becomes very difficult to stop it, so if any team tries to beat Nadroga, they need to pile points in the first half before the Nadroga players get into their rhythm in the second spell,” said Waki.
Macuata will challenge for the Farebrother Trophy tomorrow while B Division champion Navosa will be the last challenger next week.
