MORE than one thousand music lovers turned up to the 2016 Corona Uprising Festival of Music, Dance and Lights that was held at the Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbour yesterday.
Uprising Beach Resort general manager James Pridgeon said the event proved to be bigger and better, with all tickets sold out.
“We have officially reached our target of this year with over 1600 tickets sold and these were all pre-booked tickets,” Mr Pridgeon said.
“This was why we did not sell any tickets at the gates this year because of the large crowd turnout that we had.
“Last year we only sold about 954 tickets, so we can really see the increase this year.”
Mr Pridgeon said the event catered for music lovers but also ensured young children were also taken care of.
“There is a lot to do here apart from enjoying the live music from the bands and singers, there is entertainment provided by various dance groups, the beach for people to enjoy and food stalls to cater for their needs.
“For the younger children there was a designated area by Projects Abroad and Mangroves Fiji team educating kids on the shark conservation and mangrove reforestation where they were able to plant mangroves so that was also something worthwhile for the kids.
“This year the stage was also bigger and set up closer to the beach with the ocean as a backdrop so people also enjoyed that more.”
