I quote from the honourable Prime Minister’s speech while opening a school up in Tacirua: “My Government doesn’t simply talk about the importance of education, we make access to quality education a reality.”

I couldn’t agree more with the Bainimarama Government since they are tirelessly progressing on improving the education sector in the rural and urban areas.

While we are assured that we are in a new era of knowledge and prosperity, support of parents is foremost and ideal motivation is needed to assist children further their knowledge for other schools and students who will be accommodated for some more months learning in tents.

Heads up and don’t let the measured assistance of the Government hinder the progress of school work.

Personally, I would like to express gratitude to the teachers who will be teaching in tents again this year but I believe with the difficulty experienced, it will not hinder their profession educating our next generation to the best of their ability and loyalty to their line of work.

Anyway, best of luck to another year of learning and we hope foreign assistance will pour in significantly to help rebuild damaged schools and move teachers and students out from schooling in tents.
