TEVITA Vosalevu hopes to ref the final of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s if he is given a chance.

The 20 year old Delaidamanu Naitasiri lad hopes to make a stamp in the rugby arena.

Being the youngest referee he hopes to broaden his knowledge and get as many experience as he can.

“In 2010 I was still in primary school I joined Suva Rugby Referee association and when I was back in high school I was watching a rugby game and I wasn’t into the game but how the guy with the whistle control the game.

“One of my teacher Sailosi Moce introduced me in to the referee arena so when I started I really enjoyed it.

“The training was good and being in the field making decision was quite challenging but I had to take one step at a time.

“My first big tournament is the Coral Coastal 7s tournament I refereed the semi-final games unfortunately I lost out a chance to referee the final but I took the plate final and this is my second big tournament so I am hoping to go for the final,” Vosalevu said.

The former Marist Brothers High School student looks up to the senior referees for motivation and also nerve wrecking when you a young person working with senior ones who have been there for a long time.

He hopes to get a chance to explore and learn more and hopefully get more knowledge if he is given a chance to go overseas.

Vosalevu looks up to former Referee manager Patrick Gock for helping him and motivated him to try out referee.
