MY car broke down on Monday morning and as I was checking under the bonnet, the many people who stopped to ask if they could help was overwhelming.
One chap said he had a jumper wire in his car.
He brought it around and we tried to start my car, but it wouldn’t.
As I stood there contemplating what to do more passers-by came up to offer assistance.
Two Lautoka City Council employees who were cleaning the road went by and asked if they could help push start it.
I told them it was automatic and one of them asked if I had contacted someone.
I told him I had left my mobile phone at home and he offered his.
So I called a friend who came to my assistance and he got an electrician who diagnosed the problem and we were able to take the car home.
I am thankful to all who asked if they could help and especially to the Lautoka City Council employee who offered his mobile phone for me to call.
And thank you to my mate for his assistance.
