AS part of the ongoing co-operation between the NZDF and RFMF Sergeant Loresio Sovea recently qualified on the NZ Army Senior Non Commissioned Officer Course in Waiouru

The course is designed to prepare selected personnel for Platoon Sergeant appointments as well as further promotion.

The course was fortunate enough to have two overseas students from Papua New Guinea and Fiji which was described as a real eye-opener and provided insight into just how similar Kiwis are to their Pacific Island neighbours. “We learnt just as much from them as they did from us, and this was proven by Sgt Sovea of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces being awarded the Regimental Award for the course and being given the honour of the drill SGT for the March Out parade.”
